Orthodontist or Dentist?

Your general dentist plays a vital role in maintaining your oral health. A lifelong partnership between you and your general dentist is simply the best way to have a health smile and healthy teeth.

When it comes to orthodontics, an orthodontist is the expert to see to get the very best results.

Whilst many general dentists can carry out straightforward orthodontic treatments, specialist orthodontists are experts in the craft. If your dentist has referred you to an orthodontist, it is because they want you to have the best care with the most experienced doctors.

We work with a number of fantastic general dentists who refer their complex orthodontic cases to us for management. The dentists we work with deliver the highest quality, ethical dental care.

There is nothing worse than seeing different dentists every few years, or worse only when something is wrong. It is best to regularly see a good dentist who can get to know your dental condition, and whom you trust to care for your needs.

ORTHODONTIST ARE DIFFERENT

An orthodontist is also qualified as a general dentist. Orthodontists spend over 10,000 hours of intense training and study to learn how to do all facets of orthodontics safely, efficiently and accurately.

HOW DO I KNOW MY DENTIST IS A SPECIALIST ORTHODONTIST

The only way to verify if your dentist is a bona-fide specialist orthodontist is to check the Australian Healthcare regulator - AHPRA.

When you put in the providers name it will show DENTIST, SPECIALIST if they are qualified in the speciality of orthodontics.
